We are within easy reach of Queen Mary University of London and the University of East London. We have a growing number of students, and I trust they find a very warm welcome here at GateWay. A number of our own young people are at university, 3 at QMUL. I would like to think they could not bear to part from the church. It is just so good, the worship is excellent, and the teaching biblical and relevant. Whilst, hopefully that is part of it, I suspect tuition fees are also a factor. Others have just finished at university, and they can offer friendship and support for those away from home for the first time.
GateWay has been privileged to support the Christian Union at QMUL in a variety of ways, including providing speakers, funding events and, most importantly, in prayer. Two of our own young people are on the current CU committee. In the church, we have a good number of young people in their late teens and twenties, who have a real passion for God, and gather regularly for food, fellowship or fun. We can usually manage to invite students back for lunch. I have rarely known a student turn down the opportunity of a free meal and a comfy chair.
We also have links to, and support, Fusion.
The nearest tube station is Leytonstone (turn right on exiting the ticket hall).
Usually a lift can be arranged from the station especially on your first visit, but it is best to arrange that in advance.
The W15 from Hackney bus passes along nearby James Lane and Essex Road South.
The 69 bus from Stratford go along Leyton High Road.
